Cybersecurity Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The Cybersecurity Analyst is a key member of the Global Security Operations team, serving as the primary cybersecurity resource in the Asia-Pacific region while working closely with the U.S.-based Global Cybersecurity Team.

The analyst monitors, triages, and responds to cybersecurity alerts to identify and mitigate potential threats, while also managing cybersecurity support tickets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve security-related inquiries and technical issues. This role also serves as the primary escalation point for global security alerts and cyber support issues during their working hours to facilitate follow-the-sun global security operations coverage.

They are also responsible for contributing to cybersecurity projects and solution engineering for locations within their region, including designing, implementing, and managing security solutions to protect the Ministry’s infrastructure and cloud environments.

    Full time, Contract position (with potential conversion to permanent) – Initial 3‑month contract, followed by a 1‑year renewal upon satisfactory performance, after which a decision will be made regarding conversion to permanent employment.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    - Thorough knowledge of core cybersecurity principles and threat landscapes, with familiarity in threat intelligence concepts, incident triage workflows, and security monitoring terminology; entry‑level certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA, GCIH or similar is preferred.
    - Thorough knowledge of common security platforms and tools, including SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, DLP solutions, and basic identity‑and‑access‑management systems, alongside a foundational understanding of network and system components.
    - Thorough knowledge of leading cybersecurity frameworks and methodologies, such as the MITRE ATT&CK® framework, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), sufficient to support detection strategy discussions and compliance activities.
    - General knowledge of communication and presentation practices, capable of drafting clear incident summaries, and preparing basic briefings for varied audiences.

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university program or three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Twelve credit hours of college level Biblical studies strongly preferred.

  • LANGUAGE

    English & Korean: Fluent in spoken and written English and Korean both with a strong command of technical concepts and terminology.

    - No restrictions on domestic or international travel when required.
    - This position requires international travel of up to 28 days/year. Maintaining required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

  • Monitors and investigates security alerts, logs, and reports to detect and validate incidents; performs detailed analysis (root cause, scope, impact) and escalates confirmed incidents to global team members when appropriate. (40%)

  • Responds to cybersecurity support tickets, providing timely assistance and guidance on security-related inquiries and technical issues. (20%)

  • Support regional cybersecurity initiatives, including implementation and maintenance of security technologies, control improvements, compliance, and vulnerability/risk management. (20%)

  • Conducts security assessments of third‑party vendors and software tools, identifying risks and ensuring alignment with the organization’s security requirements.(10%)

  • Conducts regular threat‑hunting activities, proactively searching for anomalous behavior or stealthy adversary techniques. (5%)

  • Stays informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies with support from senior team members. (5%)

  • Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan’s Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.

  • Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors, and volunteers.

  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, volunteers, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public within the workplace, in the community, and before the general public.

  • Reflects Godly character by conducting activities in a manner consistent with the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Christian Code of Conduct, Statement of Fidelity to the Holy Scriptures and Distinct Objectives.

Working Conditions

  • Working Hours

    Monday–Friday (5 days a week), 8:00–17:00 or 8:30–17:30

  • Salary and Benefits
